ANZAC Day 2026
ANZAC Day has special significance in Albany. It has long been recognised that the service conducted by Padre White was the day that marked the birth of a tradition.
Albany’s RSL sub-branch with support from the City of Albany will deliver the Dawn and Commemorative Services this year, which will include the traditional Gunfire Breakfast and Troop March.
This year’s commemorations will be completely open to the public with no ticketing requirements to attend the main services.
TRADITIONAL ANZAC DAY DAWN SERVICE
Date: Saturday, 25 April 2026
Time: 5.30am – 6.00am
Venue: Desert Mounted Corps Memorial, Mount Clarence
There will be no seating at Mt Clarence. It is strongly recommended that patrons with mobility restrictions, parents with children and strollers or patrons that may find standing and walking for long periods of time difficult consider attending one of the service livestreams. These are hosted at the Albany Entertainment Centre and at ANZAC Peace Park or it can be watched online from the comfort of your own home.

GUNFIRE BREAKFAST
One of the traditions of Anzac Day is the ‘gunfire breakfast’ (coffee with rum added to it) which occurs shortly after many dawn ceremonies and recalls the ‘breakfast’ taken by many soldiers before facing battle. The traditional gunfire breakfast will be held at the Albany Entertainment Centre for a $5 donation to the RSL.

Join us for the Albany RSL's annual public function at the Stirling Club. Bar open from 12pm, finger-food provided, lucky door prize and the big ANZAC Day raffle, winning tickets drawn at 2pm.
